Monochrome

This little bird is a favorite of mine. Of all my attempts at linework, I think he's my best.

I sat outside the other day for quite a while watching the birds. The starlings controled the feeder with aggressive tactics. Yet the brave chickadees broke through the lines and made a hasty dinner. Yet the whole time a pair of crows stood from an ash tree and sung to eachother.

The color red is usually not one I respond to, but here it works just fine.

Do you sell your art?

Cat, what makes this image for me is the eye. There is just something about that eye that is enigmatic. Sometimes it looks lonesome and forlorn and at other times defiant and angry. That it could be both is a testament to your skill as an artist. Beautiful work Cat, just beautiful.

Stunning... I'm in love, Cat.

It occured to me, looking at your blog, that the collective blogging effort I'm involved in lacks an artist, and how lovely it would be to have an artist of your caliber contributing to the site.

It's not like there are any real standards or expectations, or anything, but it does make for a nice hub for some of us refugees, and would undoubtedly produce some unique traffic for your blog.

No pressure or anything - I was just thinking.

If you are interested, let me know and I'll arrange for an invite from one of the admins. You'd be a welcome addition.

thank you for all your comments guys. this is my favorite, so i was tickled for the excuse to bring it back out for lookin'.

full disclosure: though the line work is all mine...that textured background is not. i cannot find what i used, but it was a bunch of kanji typed out...and then blurred.

unknown: you speak pinko commie very well.

anonymous: what blog would that be?

Hmmm. That's very odd. I posted those comments under this nic, and they were in fact displayed under this nic last night. I have no idea what happened.

The group blog would be wikifray. SplendidIREny and ClaudeScales just joined. It would be lovely if you'd consider it (no pressure, or anything).

Anyhoo, this is TenaciousK, on the chance my comments get relegated to the obscurity of anonymity again.

That was very wierd.

PS: You know, looking over your comments here, I'm quite sure I'm not the only one bitten by the anonymous bug. My recollection is that there were very few anonymous comments at all [I noticed - you seem to have a very active and widespread audience].

Blogger indigestion again, I wonder?

I wouldn't put it past Hellcat. It might be time to bring out the vacuum cleaner...

TenaciousK: I just recently switched to the "new" blogger...they forced me to, actually...I wasn't allowed past the page to switch over.

I wonder if the switch messed up my comments pages.

Joining WikiFray would be an honor. I've read many of the entries there, and I find them informative, well thought out, and well-written.
