Awesome! How did you do it?

I drew the bird wrapped like a mummy in bandage gauze, then I took a photo of it with my digital cam...which was hard to do, because it is acting up - the lense keeps refocusing itself, and then the camera keeps shutting off. argh.

Anyhow...I didn't like the bottom strips, so I used my vector tool to make more.

Then, I selected each section of gauze, and "filled it with a criss cross of beige white and black that I made to sorta look like cloth, and then used my paint tool with the opacity almost zero...and put black where I wanted it shaded, and white where I wanted it lit. (I tried to use the shading tool, but it was too abrupt or harsh?)

The back ground I just made gold and squiggled it around. and then overlayed that on the cloth background I'd made for the gauze. The overlay (blending tool) darkened it, but I liked the contrast, so I left it.

I was gonna write a poem about wrapped and trapped, but it didn't come out so funny.

OOOOOOH! I LOVE LOVE THIS! How did you do this Catnapping? This is such elegant bird. I hope she does not get unwrapped. You as such a mental ninja!

Oh my God of course I love it.

You are the most clever Cat there is; even more clever than puss in boots.

Cat I am happy to hear from you. Thank you.

Love Renee xoxo

fascinating, I like the lose bandages and the wonderful textures

about your process, it seems to me you need a flatbed scanner, that's what I do, I scan in my drawings to work digitally, so much better than taking a photo

I like the style. Well done.

Mick's right. Go ahead with the poem. It's an excellent sound to echo the sense: wrapped, trapped, strapped, capped, overlapped. Just stay away from crapped, maybe. It's okay if it's bitter/funny.

How is it that I missed this?
I should have been at rapt attention. Seems my mind wasn't wrapped too tight.
I'm glad I got to see it now at least!

I hope you're doing well these days ;)
