A velvet bowl
settles, and with the stars,
I am captured.

i love your illustration. the whole thing turned out great. the fact that it is left without a definite border just makes it more spectacular.

Oh my ... the word velvet with night is as luxurious as your epicurean image };-} You have also captured me in voluptuous magnificence!!!

Wow, the words are so beautiful and the illo is really charming. It's simple, but it gives me so much space for imagination.

By the way, did you redesign your blog?

beautiful image. love the little stars - makes me think of tiny flowers in the night sky...

thank you, all. this is the first time i've been pleased with my submission, and not tempted to change it.

i haven't changed the design, miragee, but i have noticed that each new illustration gives the place a different look for that week.

This is my favorite of your illustrations. This would make a beautiful poster.

Great job, Cat,

It looks as though the moon and stars are just floating out in space on the page of your blog. So nice.

The haiku is a wonderful addition to the illo. The black velvet bowl works so well, like the soft silence of space.

catnapping, you are too funny - number 8 a moon indeed!!! My dad showed me that years ago, and I have to say it crossed my mind, when I drew it, wondering whether I should make it a lamp instead. I like your humour!!!! Hahahaha

There is an inside outside feeling to this one. Am I looking at the inside of dream or the moon in the sky?

I love the simplicity of this image!

I am always flattered that people choose to comment on my illustrations. I never know what to say in return, except "thank you!"

OncleJohann, thank you. I too have had added your site in my link bank.

ski, I don't thinks there's such a thing as being late to comment on an entry. LOL. I find myself commenting on folks' year-old entries, when I come across them!

HI, I've tried since Saturday using Internet explorer and firefox, I've checked about 10 different times, I can not get the pictures on your blog to show up, yet I see pictures on other people's blogs. You have a lot of comments, so most people must be able to see your pictures, has any one else mentioned to you that they are having problems with this blogs pictures loading?? Anyway, I will keep checking back, since I like your work so much and I do want to get to see it. Best Regrads, Jacque

This is my favorite of all of yours. Just wonderfully drawn. I love the whispy lines. And the stars are almost like flowers in her hair. Beautiful.

I really like the three dimensional quality you've created. The face on the moon is nice, too, very tranquil.

Very very apt illustration of the theme. It captures the spirit perfectly.

Your illustration and words go together perfectly. I especially like your poem. The rhythm of hte words are accentuated with the rythm of the lines around the moon face. I love it!
To answer your question-yes, I used asl clip art for the alphabet to spell dream out. Thanks for commenting!
