My Pooter is broken!

My computer was damaged enroute back to Missoula. I've filed a claim with UPS. I was only able to afford 500 insurance. So if they honor their contract, and pay me the 500 they owe me for damaging my computer, I will be able to afford to have it repaired.

I'm devasted that I can't work on my illustrations. I do have some older ones saved to discs, so I'll be able to upload some of them. These library computers only have paint...and they have no scanner for me to upload any drawings or sketches on paper.

waaaaaaa!

I'll be back tomorrow to do some more catterwauling. I promise!

And boy o boy, I gotta tell you about one of my neighbors. He must be schizophrenic. He makes noises like animals, and then starts yelling, "this sucks!"

So it sorta went like this for about 3 hours last night (starting around midnight). "Meow, meow, ruff, ruff, ruff.....ribbet, oooOOOoooo. THIS SUCKS! ----"meow.....THIS SUCKS THIS SUCKS THIS SUCKS ooooOOOOOooooo." Over and over! (I hope I got the punctuation right.)

Hope it gets fixed soon. We're seriously odd neighbor-dependent.

Very bad news indeed. My business partner and I have had pretty good experiences with UPS honoring their insurance liabilities ... couple of damaged large, framed photographs (which had been packed by their store) were paid for. Good luck, and here's hoping you're back in business very soon.

There are "the odd neighbours" and then there are the decidedly odd ones! Hope his ranting is of the safety valve kind. And I hope your insurance $$ comes through soon.

I dunno... we have people freaking out in the middle of the street at midnight, before being taken away by the cops. Takes all kinds, I guess

This is just guesswork. I’m trying to figure out what’s going on astrologically – in you natal chart. This could be the work of Pluto – a heavy taskmaster, always aiming for total transformation (in conjunction with Mars) transiting your natal Mercury. ‘Replace outdated ideas’ is how one astrological expert describes such a period. This could be extended to means of transportation, computers, neighbours…? A period of considerable mental pressure. Just an attempt on my part to try to understand (rationalize, away even) a demanding situation – as a psychological defence mechanism!:)

Saw your blog on blogshares. I'm from Missoula too. If you need help with the computer, you can find me at IT Central on campus (after 22nd of course). Good luck. Krishna Mandava

Neighbor: never underestimate either the ubiquity or the catastrophic impact of methamphetamine.

Your computer: Man oh man, I'm so sorry. Is this a desktop you had shipped back? For 500, you can get a lot of repair work done. You might also want to ask if insurance will cover a rental. Presumably, they wouldn't have been able to damage the CPU or the motherboard, so $500 is probably more that you need - unless your running a bleeding-edge powerhouse kind've machine.

I hope you get it up and running soon - I've been enjoying your blog.

You sure there aren't real animals over there? Watch out.

Bummer about your computer... with all your pretty pics, it is a bad blow to not be able to play with them. Besides, I miss seeing them :-)
