I also meant to say how I love your deeper humour that goes with these pieces. All around this is a winner!

I imagine they'll be on the same menu as the turtle doves? Excellent take on the theme in every way!
Brilliant! Your KFC take knocks spots off other versions
I'll never be able to listen to the 12 days of Christmas again without thinking of this piece. How fabulous is that!

Thank you all for visiting. I'm glad you like the series, so far. anonymous and barbara: it wasn't till i wrote these 12 haiku that i finally learned the exact order of the 12 days of christmas.i used to get the numbers confused - was that 11 lords a leaping? 9 swans a swimming? ...and i'm tickled to think i might have produced some christmas earworm for you both. sandy and dinahmow: thank you! kfc's buckets are very festive, ey? i couldn't help but consider what nice bells they'd make!valgal: thank you soo much. i can't wait for you to read the haiku for the 8th day. i just hope i can produce an illustration worthy of it.kate and teri: thank you. the hens are my favorite. studio lolo: hmm. black birds might be tasty too. heeee
