anonymous and barbara: it wasn't till i wrote these 12 haiku that i finally learned the exact order of the 12 days of christmas.
i used to get the numbers confused - was that 11 lords a leaping? 9 swans a swimming?
...and i'm tickled to think i might have produced some christmas earworm for you both.
