Ah... the first stirrings of spring. It's been forever since I've seen flowers poking up through the snow.

I love love love that you chose to do white on white with a grey sky!
It's moody and hopeful, like me I guess ;)
Beautiful!!

I've often wondered what kind of archetypal energy I miss out on not living in a northern clime.

Our yard blooms all year -- various things, not all the same thing at once. But on any given day something is coming up to bloom.

It's unnatural. I know that for sure.
In the sense that the cycle is not long enough to get a sense of anticipation and rebirth in spring.

This is so gorgeous in this piece. Beautiful! Anticipation - and what's to come. Lovely!

True, artandsoul, the contrasts are more spectacular in the north, and Montana has some very strong spirits to go along with it. But remember Steinbeck describing the constant teeming and breeding of life in the sea off the California coast. It sounds much like your garden, spectacular in its own way.

I catch myself staring at the whites in the painting, by the way, Catnapping. Maybe I need more snow. It's been dry here in Topeka.

nicely done love the sparse green in all the white and grey. gives one taste as to what is to come spring when everything burst forth in color.

Ah spring. It's kind of like a new beginning. A do-over if you will. And this year I'm going to try to get it right.

Less than 20 words...and one picture; and there is Spring in all its botticelli beauty.

art and fred: it's natural up here to have these cycles, but the beauty in places like florida is natural there, too.

i just prefer the 4 seasons...actually, i think i'm starting to prefer 3...winter, spring, and fall. i hate summers that are hot. i want it to be like the olden days when 'hot' here, meant high 80s. grrrrrr.

studio and md: i love greys. i really do. i like the way a normally unnoticed colour will pop in a grey vista.

aaron, mick, kevin, renee, and montag: yep. i'm getting excited about spring.

teri and isay: thank you. for such an unassuming little flower, they they make such bright heralds.
