Oh Cat, I love this...in it's simplicity it says so much...a swirl of breath as it moves through the air...fleeting...yes!

This reminds me of something that the Seattle P-I used to do from time to time. They would select a word, and send their photographers out to take pictures that defined that word.

Here, Cat has managed to do an excellent job of defining "fleeting" with a simple, but really beautiful picture.

I wish something gentle like that would blow across Topeka. Winter is really hanging on here in Kansas. Tessa has not spent meaningful time outdoors since October.

Thank you, everyone.

I made this starting out as a profile. Then I took a picture of it, and put it in my paintshop pro, and filled inside.

Then I tood that and added noise, and then used the clone tool to make uneven areas, and darkened them in dots...

Then, instead of using lines to show the nose and lips, etc, I used the shadow tool to darken and lighten as I saw that light would hit the face...I love the results.

The hand...not so much. I drew the hand with my mouse because I realized something was missing...and so the heel of the hand...looks more like the heel of a foot. aaaargh. And the hand is too small for the face.

But still. I like the results of the face. I hope I can repeat that in other faces. But I think I'd probably rather draw them. I like doing eyes.

I hope y'all had a good weekend. I know how important this holiday was for many of you.

love,
cat

Very nice. By the way...that pigeon you have in the post below looks strikingly similar to one that decided to move in with us for a couple of weeks, hang out, then move on to wherever pigeons move on to after they've camped at your crib for a couple weeks. Brought back fond memories, that picture.

And I love your images where no words are ever needed. However when you do put words you usually just push the bar a little higher.

Love Renee xoxo
