Hope warms tiny hearts

Sweet! Each post and sparrow as a note! Almost looks like a new written language - well done :)

It isn't only my heart that's warm ... MWAHAHAHAHAHAAAA. *salivating*

You have to tell what song this is! My singing sounds awful!

Catnapping said...

ya know...i almost put a cat in the picture...

sorry, hellcat. maybe next week. you and juicy bird.

anonymous: thank you. thank you.

While I was trying to make it look like notes on a bar, I wasn't thinking a specific tune. I don't remember how to read music. It's been 40 some years, I think.

It probably reads like a gay tomcat lusting for Percy..

i love it!

No wonder my singing sounded awful };-} Pretending I didn't hear that ... sweet birds :)

Cute picture, and I like the haiku. The songs of nature are the best!

Songbirds *with* flesh. Phew. I love how this has different planes of meaning. And graphically, it has punch. (ouch)

Catnapping said...

thank you, guys. i almost was gonna colour the sparrows...in crayon colours - i thought wow, wouldn't that punch out from the bleak background, but one of the things i like about sparrows is their total lack of pretension.

Besides, tans on white can be quite beautiful, as anyone who's held a fleece jacket can tell you.

I was shocked when I got to IF. The day wasn't over yet, and there were already 200 entries!

it's great with these colours!

Elegant. I can say no more...

...and then, I read anonymous' post.

I didn't see the sheet music at first.

Very cute. And elegant :)

That's so cute- a sparrow organ! Just a little puff of air up their feathers gets them to sing!

Unknown said...

I wanna sing with themm...they are so sweet!

Twisselman said...

Very cool and musical/lyrical. These songbirds look like they provide really melodic harmonies... not like the obnoxiously loud magpie or mockingbird that serenades our house at 3 a.m. on summer mornings.

Wonderful illustration.

Very nice. I really love the idea and story it tells!
Thank you so much for your kind comment on my blog. I'll be back on yours!

I see. Not napping. Pretty busy. A cat myself. Like your little sparrows… They’ll nevev sing, though, unless directed properly. Well done.
