Thanks for visiting my blog. I agree with the association 'strength' and 'family', somehow it seems so relevant. Family ties are very important in my opinion, and I'm glad you think the same way. Good luck !
darn it - i'm sad that i didn't notice those faces on my own... after reading caroline's comment, i had to go back and look at it again... that's really cool!
This is marvelous! I like the hidden artwork in the tree. And now that I am here I have to look at all the work you have done, it is lovely, to the point, and creates a genuine feeling in each piece.
zana and toni: as humans, i think we're wired to get our strength from our clan. our family. i don't know what we'd do without them.
pink poodle: if you tried to climb up after me, you'd ruin your manicure.
ginger, kg, and caroline: i was hoping people would see the faces. i think i should've made them bolder or something. But i was having so much fun with the background colours, i sorta forgot all about the tree part!
jack: LOL. is this your way of telling me you don't like my little pictures? hehehehehehehehehehe
It's a Family Tree! The sky is eating me with it's warmth and strength; also balancing and caressing the limbs of the tree that hold branches to many previous strong family members with links. Those at the top of the tree are watching over those that descend. Beautiful!
Cat, as usual you have used your beautiful imagination and made a puzzle out of your illo. I love tress so I was really looking at it and noticed the faces. Lovely!
You are undoubtedly one of the most unique and thought provoking illustrators.
You know how I love the bright colors you use. Colors like sound effects us more than we realize and your illustrations always make me feel good.
I agree with Mr Dallas too, you are one of the best poets around. Really unfortunate that he is blind. hehehe
Thanks for your visite on my blog (sorry for the english !). Your blog is very beautiful. And your interpretation to "Illustration Friday" is very interesting.
OH, the colors choosen, the hint of falling leaves in the lower part of the background, the starkness of the tree, this works to make a powerful beautiful image. Wonderful
Nice contrast of the background against yet such a simple yet strong tree. You can see there is some history written within the structure of it. Nice Work!!!
Hello, Thank you, both for the feedback and for dropping by :)... Was just wandering in here and have to say, really like 'Night' and totally identified with 'Remote'...There are times when I wish I was sitting below a tree with a good book, away from the rest of the world! :)
I like your concept.... trees are the perfect example of strength! I read you comment on my log... I have left an alternative link to the image in the comments, hopefully you will be able to see the image.
I was always fond of the saying that there is nothing as beautiful in this world as a tree, and you have proved that to be correct. And I'm glad that the comments drew me to the fact that there was more to this picture than it first seems, I'd missed the faces on my first viewing, but I was glad that the comments made me take a second look.
I was on vacation last week and didn't see this - WOW! The first thing that struck me of course was the hotness of the colors. Then I noticed the faces. Very powerful, all in all. Not to mention that I find trees extremely difficult to draw, so hats off to you. And one last thing, I also included in my strength submission "family" as one of the things that help make and keep me strong . We must be on the same wavelength. :-)

Strength in our family is always important.
wonderful interpretation and illo.
Think you'll be safe if you scamper up that tree? hee hee
I love this.
First I like the colours in the background a good connection of blood and spirit.
Then I like the faces hinted at in the branches
And finally I like the tree itself!

Catnapping is without question the best poet on the Slate Fray and one of the best I have ever known.
Her poems are haunting and move the soul to reflection on things past and possibilities for the future.

This "Strength" is very fantastic!!
Strength of colour, too. I'll take a dozen. :)
There faces in the tree, very nicely done and very much suited to this Illo.
Nice contrast of the background against yet such a simple yet strong tree. You can see there is some history written within the structure of it. Nice Work!!!

great!!!
nice color palette in the background.
And beautiful tree too
Nice work
Your "strength" illo is very stong indeed. The soft, somber yet powerful colors with the lone, strong tree. I really loved it.
I love the hidden faces in the branches, this is great!
Interesting how your family tree is in a wintry sunset...
Strong point to this week topic, like the background.
Nice work and composition. You illustrated the topic quite nicely I think. Thanks for your comments on my post this week as well! ;)
Exquisite. Love the intertwining branches!
Hmm, very nice illo. Isnt it wonderful to hug a tree!
