First Kiss

Love! Love, love, love, love. You want to be in love.
That's right. You want to feel that first kiss again.
Because that's the only real kiss in a relationship, is the first kiss.
All the rest of the kisses are just protocol.
Every other kiss is protocol. Just routine.
"Hey, you was gone, you back."
"Hey, we're having sex."
"Hey, I miss you."
The first kiss is the only real one.

---Chris Rock

I practically had to force myself on Tom, the first time we kissed. I went more than half way, and still he demured. I'd spent the entire evening giving him every come hither signal I could think of...incidental touching; sitting thigh to thigh; ignoring every other guy at the party; joining him out on the patio when he went for a smoke. And even as I closed in on his lips, he stood wooden. I had to do everything!

He told me much later that I'd been drinking, and he didn't think I would've wanted him if I'd been sober. Oh please!

Oh my gawd-this made me laugh. Sometimes signals just fly over the head, eh? Very sweet memory. Cheers!

How absolutely precious. Your illo is so perfect with your story. I think it is so sad that some guys think so little of themselves. It takes women like us to show them they are attractive and special.

Boy, does that bring back memories. I had to make the first move on my husband too, he was even more shy than I was. After our first kiss, I haven't been able to get rid of him since. :)

That very first kiss
is the most important one
lasting forever

Ok, my very first kiss with my wife, well... she had a 12 year old boy and he was peering in through the side window so when he saw a kiss! he tossed his basketball at the window; a little too hard - it came crashing through the window. How's that for romantic?

omg, days. did you find yourself flinching the next time you kissed her?

The shy ones are the keepers. Is that you and your husband?

The colour you've drawn this in is very close to the colour of the headers in your blog - it makes this feel like its really part of the blog - I've never noticed this in anyone else's blog before - wonderful effect!

Beautifully and sensitively drawn.

And I'm curious too, is this a self-portrait?

thank you, all. yes, that is a "self-portrait" done with my mouse.

drawing it, i used black on a white surface, and then after i liked it, i ended up changing to a negative, and then using one of the PsP effects for "aging" to give the lines colour.

then i went and changed the "hue" to a green and then I reduced its saturation.

i like the way it turned out, and any excuse i can find to talk about kissin'

well...

Okay, men can be slow on the uptake. I dunno... for guys some of us get to a stage where we figure that any girl we're keen on is automatically not going to be interested, and stop bothering to assume anything.

In my case, I'm perfectly attractive, but I have auburn hair, which apparently automatically put me off the map for a lot of women - only about 5% ever found me really attractive and I learnt that they were the only ones really worth bothering with anyway :).

I remember my first kiss with my (second) wife very fondly.

Now I'm married (again) and raising a lot of beautiful red-headed daughters :).

Wonderful lineart. Yes, we guys can sometimes be illiterate when it comes to reading signals (all sorts of 'em at different times in the relationship). Sigh. I'm glad my wife is patient with me.

Memories... Yes, the first kiss... But in twelve and a half years of living with a man, the one you remember the most is not always the first. I want to share that one memory with you: It was at the beginning of our relationship and were not yet living together. We had a bad argument so he return to his appartment for the night. The day after I went to the supermarket and when I came back there was that beautiful first snow with big snowflakes... And I saw him coming and suddenly I was so happy, we ran toward each other... it was really like a film, you know, and I'll never forget that kiss, no never, so romantic. That's why I love the first snow.

P.S. Your illo is great and remind me of him because he was a beard man. *sigh*

I remember a girl in high school who was so quiet and withdrawn. When I finaly kissed her, she practically sucked my face off. It's a allways the quiet ones...

My first kiss was with Susan Meeker in the back of my best friends Impala. We were on our way home from the mall. She had been trying to kiss me all day but I was too dumb and nervous to pick up on the signals.
Has no one ever told you that nice guys are dumb in the ways of romance. The good ones are never easy to get.
